Bull Moose
When editing this photo I wanted to create something that could stand alone as a piece of art on the wall and then draw the viewer in when they realize there is something more to it. If you are looking for a traditional crisp wildlife photograph then this is not the print for you. The colours are beautiful and the mystery of what was behind the tall vegetation will always remain.
This photo was taken on the 3rd day of a mid-October backcountry canoe trip in Ontario. I came around the corner on a remote river and saw the antlers from far away. It had rained almost non stop for 2 days and now there was a slight window of calm on this early morning. I tried my best moose call but never got him to come closer and after he turned, all I saw was his antlers fading away as his broad shoulders pushed though the bush.
This image is printed in the landscape orientation on premium mat paper.
